The Third International Baccalaureate organized a project based on customs and traditions around the world, thus we decided on The Day of the Dead in Mexico because we particularly think that is an intangible cultural heritage of humanity celebration, having lots of aspects to remark . This festivity is pretty eye catching and really popular around the world as the Pixar movie Coco shows us. In this tradition, Mexican people make altars where they leave gifts called “ofrendas”, to honor the deceased of their beloved ones, using Marigold flowers and the dead’s favorite food. Mexican families bake «Pan de muerto» that is sweet bread, prepare beverages, and visit graves with these as gifts. We could share this tradition with our authorities and friends who enjoyed and learned more of this outstanding celebration with us.
Also as a CAS activity we earn money selling sweet popcorn to improve our project to build houses in The Cost Region.
We want to thank our teacher to give us this opportunity to demonstrate our skills in English.
